Flying Through Turbulence

At Safe Harbors Business Travel we want to help prepare you for every aspect of your trip, including your experience on the plane. If you find yourself on a bumpy ride keep a few of these tips in mind:

Follow the instructions of flight attendants and/or the pilots.

The best thing you can do on a flight that is experiencing severe turbulence is to follow the instructions of experienced professionals. Both the pilots and flight attendants are professionally trained to protect you and ensure you have a safe trip.

  • Keep your seatbelt on

Keep your seatbelt fastened at all times if you are on a flight that is experiencing turbulence. While the pilot may be doing their best to take control of the plane, it is your responsibility to take control of yourself and avoid getting tossed around.

  • Put away loose items

Tuck away any bags, electronics, books, food, etc. when experiencing severe turbulence to avoid injuring yourself or anyone else on your flight.

  • Meditate

Deep breathing, counting backwards, and thinking positive thoughts are all great ways to relax your mind, body, and spirit. Give a few of these meditation techniques a try if you encounter a rough plane ride.

  • Listen to music

Listening to your favorite tunes is a great relaxation technique. With the right headphones it can block out all noise and be a distraction for the chaos happening around you.
